Long Island Clean Corporate Stand-up Comedy
Hiring clean stand-up comedian Shaun Eli for your corporate or charity comedy event on Long Island
About me
Hello Long Island! I’m clean corporate stand-up comedian Shaun Eli. I grew up in and around New York City- seven years in Queens (and we don’t need to discuss whether or not that’s Long Island). Then we moved to Westchester. I was seven and when my mother said we were moving to the suburbs of course I assumed that meant Long Island. I’d never heard of Westchester. Long Island was the suburbs and that’s where the sort of country club we went to was located. It’s gone now, probably all houses or malls or something. Actually I just looked it up and it’s a gated residential community. I only vaguely remember swimming, and older kids playing baseball.
I was a banker for a long time, and also writing jokes for the monologues of three late-night TV talk show hosts. That was free-lance. I’d read the paper on the train, think of jokes, and send them in. If they used one, I got paid. Then someone talked me into trying stand-up comedy, and a few years later I said Adios to the day job. Then I had to say it again in English. Best trade I ever made.
What else do you want to know about me? Just ask!
I’m a clean comedian- this might be my second-dirtiest joke:
My stand-up comedy
I’m a clean comedian. Nobody really knows what that means. Even some of Carlin’s Seven Dirty Words aren’t so offensive now, and I’ve heard some of them on TV. To some people it means no dirty words. Other people may care less about vocabulary than about content. You can say horribly vulgar things without dirty words, and you can also use dirty words in a clean context. The F word, for example, can be a verb, or it can be an adverb.
I have performed all over the world- I’ve headlined shows on six continents. I work in theatres and performing arts centers, in golf, country and yacht clubs, at corporate and industry events, at charity fundraising events, for alumni associations and I even perform comedy at houses of worship (which means temples, churches, synagogues, etc.). I’ve also performed once in a barn. But then also once in an embassy and that was pretty cool. I’m also a funny keynote speaker, and I emcee/host corporate and charity events.

Booking me
Email Shaun (at) Brain Champagne dot com, or call or text me at (914) it’s-funny (914) 487-3866. I’m sure you’ll have questions and I’ll do my best to answer them. I’ll have questions for you too. Not calculus or chemical equations, more like Who and Where and When and How Many and You Do Have Chairs, Right?
I’ve done shows for people standing up, but a seated audience is better. Indoors is better than outdoors, too. Comics used to hate outdoor shows- we need laughter to echo, and no distractions- but since the pandemic we’ve gotten better at performing under more difficult circumstances.
So get in touch and let’s have some fun!
